About Your Local ChapterThe First Capital District Chapter of the American Red Cross was founded on June 2, 1917. Mary McCord is the current Executive Director and supervises over 150 local volunteers. The chapter is responsible for a variety of community services, including responding to disasters, training citizens in disaster preparedness, providing education on health & safety topics, coordinating blood drives and assisting with armed forces emergency services. Call the Chapter House at 740-772-2014 to sign up for disaster preparedness courses. * American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. Please help us to make sure that we can continue to provide food, clothing and shelter to our neighbors who are in need by making a donation today. Sign Up to Become a Red Cross Volunteer! Thanks to the generosity of Herb and Bettie Friedman, the First Capital District Chapter of the American Red Cross has moved into the former Goodwill building on North Bridge Street in Chillicothe.
You can now sign up for a class and pay for it online. You may also register and pay by check at the Chapter House. Beginning June 13, 2011, all military members and their families can use one number- 877-272-7337 (U.S. Toll Free) to send an urgent message to a service member.
