About Your Local Chapter
The First Capital District
Chapter of the American Red Cross was founded on June 2, 1917. Mary McCord is
the current Executive Director and supervises over 150 local volunteers. The
chapter is responsible for a variety of community services, including responding
to disasters, training citizens in disaster preparedness, providing education on
health & safety topics, coordinating blood drives and assisting with armed forces emergency
services.

Each year
the First Capital District of the American Red Cross
honors citizens of Ross County who have selflessly
performed heroic deeds or outstanding service in our
community. Our selection committee will review
nominations and award this year’s heroes at our
Annual Heroes’ Event on May 18th. To
nominate your favorite hero,
please complete this form
as thoroughly as possible.
Forms must be returned no later than May 7,
2012.

Thanks to the generosity of Herb and Bettie Friedman, the First Capital
District Chapter of the American Red Cross plans to move into the former
Goodwill building on North Bridge Street in Chillicothe.
You can now sign up for a class and pay for it online. You may also
register and pay by check at the Chapter House.

for a special donor appeal to support our efforts.
